Janna, you got a good report at your pneumonia re-check appointment yesterday. And for the first time ever, you didn't scream when the doctor checked your ears. You were so good for Dr. Zeimmer - i can tell that you really like him. You're are a good judge of character so i figure he must A-okay! While listening to your lungs he kept bumping your head a little with his head and saying, 'Oops, sorry'. This tickled you and kept you still and calm while he got a good listen as you anticipated each little bump. You were all smiles for him and i was very thankful for that. Grandma went with us to help contain you but that was definitely not necessary. You've lost those 2 pounds we worked so hard at gaining but we're going to eat lots of Italian over your Christmas break and hopefully reach 34lbs. again.
Afterwards we stopped by your school as your teacher had called Thursday so upset and wanting to know how to get all your Christmas gifts and crafts to you. Grandma had dropped off your gifts for your friends and teachers but your teacher was not around to send your stuff home with her at that time. We arrived after early dismissal so all the kids had gone home but your teachers and therapists were so glad to see you and know that you were on the mend! You got a nice fishing game, a Spud Buds Mr. Potato Head kit, and lots of Christmas ornaments and pictures that you had worked hard at making, along with a cool Christmas hat you had made.
I was able to sneak some of the antibiotic in with a Mixed Berry Sauce yesterday but the medicine brigade had to gather again last night to finish the job. You have slept well and not coughed too much, until around 3am. I keep pulling you up on your propped up pillow in hopes of keeping the cough supressed - so far it works until you wiggle back down in the bed. Baby monitors are such wonderful inventions!
You are one tough girl and i'm so thankful that you are beating this pneumonia. A lot of people have been praying for you this week. We are so blessed with wonderful friends that keep you lifted in prayer and a wonderful God who keeps you in His care. It sounds like you are getting some good rest now so maybe i'll go and try sleeping again as well. Mama and daddy love you!
